Even though Točník castle is one of the youngest Czech castles it is one of the largest. It is situated not far from Hořovice, in the Beroun district in Central Bohemia. King Václav IV had the castle built in 1398 after his favourite Žebrák castle burnt down. Točník lost its significance in the 16th century and started deteriorating. The last owner, Josef Colloredo-Mannsfeld, gave the castle to the Czech tourist club in 1923.
