The castle was built by Count Ferdinand B. Harrach during 1760 - 1763. The small palatal main building with a typical mansard roof and gables bears unequivocal features of influence of contemporary French architecture. The mirrored ceilings (and partly mirrored walls) of the interior of the main building are decorated by charming rocaille and plant decoration. Several swaggering pontifical and archiepiscopal coaches from the 18th century will also attract attention.
Even though the Empire style of the Boskovice Chateau dates back to the 1820’s and 1830’s, historical roots of this building can be found almost a century and a half earlier.
The manor Rájec nad Svitavou, a beautiful building unusual in Moravia, can be found in the area of the Moravian caves, north of Blansko. New two story building with a yard of honor covered by a attic roof in the style of Luis XVI was built in 1763 - 1759.
