Dětenice is located in the district of Jičín on the border of Český ráj (Bohemian Paradise), near Mladá Boleslav and in a distance of 69 km from the capital of Prague.
The Dětenice Château Resort consists of a château in the Late Baroque style, the Medieval Tavern, the Château Brewery, the Rustikal Hotel, the Medieval Hotel, stables and the Malá Morava wine cellar.
The original intention of the owner of the château was to renovate it and make it partially open to the public. However, the rich history and, first and foremost, historic buildings belonging to the former estate have resulted in gradual extensive renovation of the individual buildings which now form the Dětenice Château Resort that keeps being expanded.
First, the reconstruction of the château commenced, followed by the brewery where a beer museum can now be visited while tasting scrumptious beer. In 2003, the first Medieval Tavern in the Czech Republic was open where with just a single step across the threshold you are carried back from the 21st century to the Middle Ages. This was followed by the construction of the Rustikal Hotel and the Medieval Hotel was open in 2009. This hotel is listed amongst the unique hotels of the world - „Unusual & Unique Hotels of the World“. Last but not least, stables were reconstructed and a tiltyard was annexed where regular knight tournaments take place in the summer. So far the last place making your stay at the Château Resort pleasant, is the Malá Morava wine cellar.
