The Neoclassical chateau, surrounded by a 21.5-hectare English park, is associated with the noble Silva Tarouca family. A friend of the art-loving count's family was the famous Czech painter Josef Mánes, who regularly visited Čechy pod Kosířem and created his works here between 1849 and 1870. The chateau's interiors organically incorporate the largest collection of his paintings presented to the public in the Czech Republic.
