Thecastle is located on the left bank of the river Ohře in a ten hectare, dendrological very valuable English park from the 1820s and 1870s, in which 220 tree species from all around the world can be found.
There is also the sala terrena with a gloriette in the palace grounds, which has Jan Brokof's carvings from the 1680s. Furthermore the Stations of the Cross from the 1690s is situated in the northern part of the park.
The castle along with the park is embedded as a part of the town monument zone in the center of the old town. The entire monument zone is newly reconstructed, so it has a positive effect on visitors.
The box office with a promotional material sale and selling exhibition of paintings and art works inhere in the entrance area of the castle. In the first floor of the castle is located exhibition of Gallery Thun.
