Enjoy your visit at Museum of Industry and Railway in Silesia, which is the oldest railway junction in Poland and has the biggest in Lower Silesia, beautiful preserved roundhouse with unique rolling stock.
During six years of its work Museum and its employees have gradually repaired and restored the engines. What's the effect of their work? At the moment Museum offers an exhibition of historic rolling stock from 1890s to 1970s. The collection contains over 50 locomotives (of Polish, German, Austrian, English and American descent), about 50wagons, as well as lifters and snow plow. The whole collection takes up 1.5 km of railway tracks.
Apart from the rolling stockmuseum holds a steam-engine, hoisting crane, Harley-Davidson motorcycle collection, , apparatuses from old printing house, historic Odra computer, iconographic collections, library collections, many exhibits related to railway in the areas connected to communication, securing of railway traffic and railway surface as well as numerous relics and documents. Visitors can also see railway mock-up in H0 scale, controlled with authentic devices for securing railway traffic and a trolley designed specifically for tourists. Museum also opened various exhibition rooms: Toy Car Mini Museum, a collection of vintage cars and a room dedicated to the history of motorcycling in Silesia, exhibitions of old carpentry tools and radios, Old Printing House and finally, one of the old wagons holds an exhibition on "The Role of Railways in resettlement after World War II. "
Future plans include launching of the historic train consisting of locomotive and three cars that could run on the beautiful routes of Lower Silesia as historic train for tourists. The Museum is also involved in organizing various events and charities.
