The Church of the Assumption of Mary in Pag is located on the main town square and is the most valuable monument of sacral architecture in Pag. The foundational stone of the church was laid on May 18, 1433, which started its long-standing construction. There were craftsmen from Šibenik and Zadar. The sources confirm the names of Juraj Dalmatinac, Zadar builders Pavle Juraj Dimitrova, Marko Andrijić and Nikola Alegreti. The Lunette portrays high artistic value, probably the work of Ivan Pribislavić or Petar Berčić.
The church is in the canonical view of the college, to the present day with the choir of canonics at the head of which stands the kaptolian archiprezbiter with the title of the myrrhonic abbey of St. Petra, inherited from the ancient monastery of St. Petra Apostle at Prosiki.
The facade of the church repeats the Romanesque-Gothic contours of the Collegiate in Old Town. On the facade stands the rich rocks of stones, the reliefs of saints Juraj and Mihovil and the composition of the Annunciation of Mary. In the lunette of the portal is shown the Virgin Mary who under his mantle protects the pious Pažana. In the church there are five marble altars erected from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a remarkable great altar palace that displays the Virgin Mary, Dominica with St. Catherine Siena and the famous actors of the Lepanto battle. This painting is of great artistic value, and according to the records from the Archives of St. Dominic in Zadar is attributed to the great Venetian painter Jacopo Tintoretto. In the church, The Cross, a wooden Gothic crucifix from which a document from 1413 testifies to the Diplomatic Corps, brought blood. The rascal was made from the former church of St.
