Mikuláš Brewery, the first craft brewery in Malá Strana, was founded by local resident Miloslav Fučík, who is affectionately known as “Slávečku” or “Krkovičko” after the butcher shop he co-founded. He is not only a lover of good beer but, above all, of good food. For many years, he has also run the “Masný Krám” butcher shop just across the street, a place where locals from Malá Strana regularly come for delicacies and a friendly word.
The idea of founding a brewery arose from the demand of the locals. Over the course of several years, the idea became a reality, and thus Mikuláš Brewery was born. The brewery's name is connected to its proximity to St. Nicholas Church. It has a 500-liter brewhouse and can brew up to one hectoliter of beer a day, which is then stored in the lager cellar with a current capacity of about 8,000 liters of beer. At our brewery, you can taste a variety of beers with original recipes quite distant from Malostranské Square.
