Lookout Tower on Plešivec The mountain hotel with a lookout tower is situated on Plešivec (literally meaning "Bald Mountain") near the town of Abertamy at an elevation of 1028 metres above sea level.
The building complex has been standing on the hilltop since 1895. It used to be dominated by a 16-metre high lookout tower built of granite stone with a small brick lodge cringing next to it. The lodge was replaced by a large mountain hotel in 1939. An extensive reconstruction of the complex took place in the 1990s and the tower acquired its present-day appearance in 2001. A covered brick lookout with an outer gallery and a steel banister was built at the top.
Sixty-six stairs lead to the octagonal tower, which offers a nice view of the surrounding Krušné hory (Ore Mountains), Slavkovský les (Slavkov Forest) or Doupovské hory (Doupov Mountains). The adjoining mountain hotel offers refreshments, as well as accommodation.
