Luční bouda is situated in one of the outstanding places in Krkonoše National Park – it stands on the Meadow Mountain (Luční hora) plateau, overlooking the highest Czech mountain, Sněžka. The chalet was built here in the mid-17th century and initially served primarily as an agricultural settlement. However, from the early 19th century it hosted cultural events and a wide range of celebrations for locals. In 1914, a reconstruction project was completed, offering guests accommodation in dormitories. The chalet burnt down in 1938. The current structure dates from 1940, when it was fixed up and used by the Germany army.
After passing into and out of the hands of numerous owners, since 2004 the chalet has been reconstructed by AEZZ, which has converted Luční bouda into a hotel offering the standard of accommodation sought by contemporary travellers. These days, Luční bouda is a highly environmentally-friendly outfit, boasting a wastewater treatment unit, ecological heating and economical supplies. Come and see for yourselves.
