The royal town of Beroun is located about 30 km southwest of Prague, at the junction of our trading capital of the western parts of the country and Germany. Replaced the old trade route D5 and the railway linking the city with Prague, Pilsen and Rakovník. The town lies at the confluence of the Berounka Litavka and entices you to visit not only for its historical monuments and rich cultural and sporting offer, but also its beautiful surroundings. It is starting in two protected areas - the Bohemian Karst and Křivoklátsko.
Today Beroun has about 19 000 inhabitants. Its dominant feature is the Town Hall Square on Hus, whose pseudo-appearance dates from 1903. The very well preserved fortifications of 1 half of the 14th century is of interest to tourists Prague and Pilsen Gate, remains of walls, moat and bastions. The town also famous for its pottery markets, which for seven years go down the best potters and ceramists from all over the country. Beroun is an important center of light and medium industry. Its industrial zone began to build in the early 90th years and local businesses - Cembrit CZ, as (roofing manufacturer), Linde Frigera Ltd. The real explosion in the last year has seen housing. The first phase began in 2004 when it was a year in the northwest part of town, in the locality Paloucek I completed twelve apartment houses with 323 new apartments. In their immediate neighborhood were built additional housing units, called Paloucek II. In the city center opposite the Grand Hotel Beroun in 2005 completed construction of a multifunctional complex with commercial areas and residential units. The former barracks city completely reconstructed building with 50 small apartments for the poor citizens. Housing construction is being completed in a former brewery on the river Berounka.
