This beautiful chateau is located about six kilometers from Lovosice in the Litomerice district and it is ranked among the most important early Baroque monuments in Czech Republic. Every year this place is visited by many national and international tourists. They admire the magnificent interior full of precious works and wealthy decoration. Next we can enjoy is a pleasant walk in the great chateau park with plenty of rare trees. The chateau is well-known thanks to the fact the chateau is the native place of the famous Czech scientist Jan Evangelista Purkyne. A permanent exhibition is dedicated to him in the chateau. The beautiful edifice is built on a place of ancestral Gothic fortress. The chateau with a Gothic chapel was built as late as in 1560 by Jan from Lobkovic.
