The castle was built by Prince Bolek II. Maly (the small). Gotshe Schoffow was the owner from 1377. It belonged to the Schaffgotsch family until 1945, it was returned to them in 1648 after being confiscated by the emperor's troops. Chojnik experienced a fire and was attacked by Swedish troops. It is the only castle in Dolni Slezsko which was never seized.

The history of Labská bouda started in 1830, when a woman of great enterprise called die Blasse built a small shack of stones, bark and brushwood and used to sell goat cheese, milk and spirits.
